FRIENDLY SOCIETIES

At the fortnightly meeting of Court Manawatu, A.0.F., Bro. R. Jones provided over a fair attendance. The Woodwards reported 17 members on the funds and one off, one having died during the past fortnight. Correspondence was received from Courts Sir William Jervois, Southern Cross, Ruahina, Loyal Enterprise, Sir Roderick Dhu, Loyal Manawatu, 1.0.0. F., M.TJ., and Miss Dunn. A vote of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Bro. Dunn. An apology for absence was received from Bro. Egan. The invitation of Loyal Manawatu Lodge to attend the unveiling of a memorial tablet to Bro. S. J. Watson was accepted. It was decided that C.R. Bro. Jones, Bros. Ffeeman, Lord, B. Ecjwards, and M. Rosanoski he appointed a committee to make the necessary arrangements for the- old members’ function. It was decided in connection with the installation of officers in January to invite Court Hinemoa to attend. The following officers were nominated for the respective offices: C.R., Bro. W. Edwards; S.C.R., Bro. R, Robinson; secretary, Bro. C. Edwards; treasurer. Bro. Fletcher; S. Bro Burgess; J.W., Bro. Egan; 5.8., Bro. Prentice; J. 8., Bro. Pickering; minute secretary, Bro. Holgerson ; delegates to the Dispensary Board, Bros. Lord and Holgerson; building committee, Bros. Freeman, Rosanoski and Burns. At the close of the meeting supper was dispensed and there followed a game of howls.
