Mrs E. C. Trehey, senr., of Palmerston North has taken up her residence in Now Plymouth. Mrs 11. Osborne, of Palmerston North, is the guest of Mr and Mrs A. K. Drew, “Brooldyne,” Sandon. Mrs G. A. Eliott, of Fitzherbert West, has as her guest her sister, Miss P. McLean Brown, of Essex, England. Miss F. Fowler, who has been on holiday in Dunedin, lias returned to duty in the massage department of the Palmerston North Hospital. Mrs Rutherford Waddell, of Dunedin, who holds the position of Dominion “Busy Beo” secretary, has boon attending the annual P.W.M.U. conference in Wellington. Before returning south Mrs Waddell will visit Palmerston North this week-end and during her stay she will be the guest of Mrs M. R. Macauley. of Church Street, and of Mr and Mrs R. L. C. Aitcliison, of Church Street. The friends of Mr and Mrs IT. A. Seifert, of Palmerston North, will regret to learn that their small daughter, Pamela,, was injured when she fell from her bicycle this week. She suffered severe concussion and was unconscious for an hour. , /

Visitors welcomed at the meeting of All Saints’ branch of tho Mothers’ Union yesterday were Mrs D. R. Mills, formerly of Waipukuran, and. now of Palmerston North, Mrs Barriball, of Christchurch, and Mrs McGavin, a former member who now resides in Auckland. Miss A. M. Moncrieff, of the Y.W.C.A., Pekin, China, who lias been visiting Y.W.C.A. branches in New Zealand, left on Tuesday for the United States, via the Panama Canal, en route to England. Miss E. M Nutsey, lady superintendent of the Auckland Hospital, who intends to visit England, lias been granted six months’ leave by the Auckland Hospital Board on full salary.

Miss Vida Sheddan, who left New Zealand a few months ago for Europe, has been studying adult education in Denmark, where a great deal is being done through women’s institutes in particular. Miss , Sheddan is at present senior English mistress at St. Helen’s School, Nortliwood.

Mrs Knox Gilmer, of Wellington, candidate for a Parliamentary seat, is entitled to the use the letters F.R.H.S. A lover of gardens, she is a member of the English Rhododendron Society and the English Rose Society.
