OHAKEA
(From Our Own Correspondent.) OHAKEA, Nov. 20. The monthly meeting of the Hall Committee was held on Monday evening, Mr F. O. Bailey presiding over a full attendance of members. The secretary (Mr H. B. Rcdpath) presented a statement covering the cost of the recent improvements, which showed a satisfactory financial position. A considerable discussion took place on the question of the replacement of the present structure by a new building, and it was decided to canvass the district to ascertain whether the residents were in favour of a now hall, and to find out what support would bo forthcoming in the event of a new hall being decided upon. Slight revision of the charges was mado, and votes of thanks were passed to Mr Benjamin Frocklington for his assistance and to the Ohakea Women’s Institute for tho provision of a now stage. Tho cricket match between Makowhai and Rongotoa. to have been played during the week-end, was postponed owing to the rain. Steady rain fell hero all Tuesday afternoon and continued throughout the night.
