RANGITIKEI RACING CLUB
COMMITTEE MEETING. (From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, Nov. 18. The committee of the Rangitikci Racing Club met in Bulls on Friday evening. Present:—Messrs R. D. McKclvie (chairman), J. E. Walker, G. H. Archer. J. 11. Perrett, R. Mackay, J. J. Mansell, Q. O. AVilson, J. Tricker, A. W. Anion, D. W. Wilson, E. A. Caldow, B. J. Frccklington and J. H. Russell. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs K. McK. Duncan arid F. O. Bailey. Reports from Mr B. N. Sandi'ands, stipendiary steward, and Mr R, G. Black, racecourse detective, reporting that everything was satisfactorily conducted at the recent race meeting, wore received. Correspondence of a routine nature was dealt with. i
The balance-sheet of the recent race meeting showed a net profit of £340, and the chairman congratulated the stewards and secretary on the smooth running of tho gathering. It was resolved to congratulate the new judge, Mr A. V. O’Brien, on his excellent work at the meeting. The caretaker reported that the course had been attended to immediately after the race meeting, and light topdressing would he proceeded with as soon as the weather permitted. ’The ewes wore in good condition, and the lambs very forward, l'at lambs would be sent away in about a week. Votes of thanks were passed to the donors of trophies—Mrs K. McK. Duncan, Mr B J Frccklington, and members of the club. Tho secretary was granted a bonus. Tho following new members were ballotfed for and elected: Messrs J. H. W llliams (Wanganui), T. M. Dwyer, A. H. Rutledge (Kairanga), H. R. Caisford (Marton), H. Bowen (Parewanui), H. C. Hawes (Palmerston North), H. Last-Harris (Parewanui), J. R. Pilling (!' eilding), T. Mitchell (Fordell) and John T. Duncan (Taihape).
