THE FARMERS’ UNION.
ATTITUDE TO POLITICS,
Per Press Association. -MASTERTON, Nov. 18.
At a meeting of the AVairarapa provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union, to-day, a discussion took place in committee in which all the members who spoke declared themselves opposed to any party political use being made of the union’s official paper. A resolution embodying that opinion was passed unanimously, members finding themselves in perfect agreement on the subject. It was felt and stated by all the members present that the unity and strength of the organisation depended absolutely on the complete avoidance of party political issues, and that in order to do its work effectively the union must receive as members all farmers, irrespective of their individual political opinions.
