THE EMPIRE GAMES.
BRITISH COMPETITORS. Received November 19, 1.30 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 18. The Daily Mail says that, although £2600 has been granted to send fifteen British competitors to the Empire Games at Sydney, Mr Evan Hunter is making an effort to raise funds to send out a team of fifty, including swimmers, oarsmen, cyclists, boxers, and track runners. He says Britain sent a hundred athletes to the original Empire Gaines at- Hamilton, and should not let down Australia.
