BRITISH PARLIAMENT.
THE ELECTION DIFFICULTY. Received October 24, 11.25 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 23. In the House of Commons Mr Stanley Baldwin said there were the greatest practical difficulties in holding the elections except in the autumn or the first six weeks of the New Year. It seemed best to get them over, as there was likely to be a lull in foreign affairs for the next three weeks. It was impossible to predict the same in January, though he hoped things would be better.
The dissolution will be on November 4, polling on November 14, the new Parliament will meet on November 26 to elect the Speaker, and the State opening is on December 3.
