LONDON VALUES HOLD. WITH ACTIVE COMPETITION. DOMINION REALISATIONS. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraphy— Copyright.) Received October 1, 11.35 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 30. At the wool sales 6932 bales were offered, including 3778 bales of New Zealand wool. About 5470 bales of Australian and New Zealand were sold. There was active Home and Continental competition at full rates. New Zealand greasy Merinos, branded R and Company over T, reached 22d and averaged 214 d. Greasy Merino haifbred, branded Montelto, reached 14.}d and averaged 13jd. Greasy crossbred, branded Taurimui, reached 9)d and averaged 9sd. On the Bradford tops market Merinos are barely steady. Crossbreds are firm at full rates.
MELBOURNE OPENING
IMPROVEMENT ON LAST YEAR.
Received October 1, 10 a.m. MELBOURNE, Oct. 1. The wool sales opened under keen competition. Prices for good wools were firm, being 15 to 25 per cent, higher than at the Melbourne opening lust season.
The highest price of the day was 19Jd per lb. for Merino wool.
