KIWITEA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) KIWITEA, Sept. 29. On Friday evening in the Kiwitea Hall a kitchen tea was held for Miss Brenda Banks, whoso marriage takes place shortly. The evening took the form of a dance, music being supplied by an orchestra from Foilding, while Mr S. Craine acted as M.C. Mr T. R. Taylor, on behalf of the district residents and the Hunt Club, called on Mi 3« Banks to accept numerous presents as a token of the esteom in which 6he is hold. Mr Darcv McGregor responded for Miss Banks, who was hailed with musical honours. Mis 3 Banks also received a very pretty bouquet of late spring and early summer flowers, Mrs T. R. Taylor being responsible for this. Throughout the evening Mrs Joblin entertained the company with songs, receiving much applause. Mrs D. Warburton acted as accompanistc. Miss Brenda Banks wore a charming frock of . black lace, and her sister, Miss Judy n nn i rS- a graceful frock of green and black Bank 3, graceful frock of green aiul black floral georgette. Among those present were: Mr and Mrs Collinson (Palmerston North), Mr and Mrs W. E. Taylor, Mr and Mrs L. Cranston, Mr and Mrs J. GVanston, Misses B and M. Cranston, Mr and Mrs C. L. Williams, Mrs K. W. Clapham, Mr and Mr» a. H. Lodge, Mrs W. and Mr L. Hair (Kimbolton), Mr and Mrs J. Lintott, Mr and Mrs Henshaw, Miss S. McDonald, Miss E. Perry, Mrs J. T. Gibson, Mr and Mrs T E. Craine, Misses N- and A. Craine and Mr S. Craine, Mrs A. Thomas, Mr and Mrs F. C. Ross, Mr D. and Miss M. Ross Mr and Mrs C. G. C. Dormer, Mrs K Ball Mr and Mrs M. Merryick, Miss M. Johnston, Miss P. Goodbehere, Mr and Mrs H. Livingstone and Miss M. Livingstone. Miss T. ICilgour Miss N. Rutherford Miss P. Graham, Miss R. Wishow, Mr and Mrs T. R. Taylor, Mr J. J. Bryce, and Mr D. H. Kilgour. A dance is to he held in the local hall in aid of hall funds The friends of Mr H. Graham will be pleased to learn that he is making a slow but steady recovery from his illness. Mr H. E. Sandilands is also slowly but surely making a recovery from his severe illness. Mrs 4 E. Sandilands is still in hospital, but is also much better. The friends of Ur ±1 null will be pleased to learn that his condition is slightly better sinco ThursCla |if,. s G. Young (of Cross Creek) and her small' son are the guests of. Mr and Mrs D. Young at “The Nursery.” Mrs A. Banks and her sister, Miss R. Wishow, are the guests of Mr and Mrs F. C. Ross, “The Wattles.” ' . . Kiwitea has been experiencing beautiful weather. The days are very hot, though the nights are still chilly.
