At the wool sales 7494 bales were offered, including 1791 from New ZeaIjland, and about SSSO bales ot Austrail lian and New Zealand wool were sold. '/There was brisk competition at full 'rates. Best greasy Merinos are now/5 1 to 7i per cent, above the July closing rates, but ordinary Merinos and cross'f breds are unchanged. New Zealand stipe halfbred lambs, branded Belfast, reached 15Jd and averaged lojd.
