DOCTOR OF LAWS.

DEGREE CONFERRED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 27. The degree of doctor of laws was conferred on Roy Granville McElroy, of Auckland University College, today by the executive committee of the New Zealand University Senate. Dr. McElrov graduated master of laws in 1929. *He gained a law travelling scholarship in 1932 and proceeded to Cambridge, where he qualified for a doctorate in philosophy. The thesis for which he has been awarded his LL.D. dealt with the impossibility of the performance of a contract. The examiner was Mr J. G. Foster, lecturer in All Souls’ College, Oxford.
