OBITUARY
MRS WILLIAM SALMONS. An old and highly respected resident of Levin, Mrs William Salmons, passed away in a private hospital on Sunday at tlie age of 72 years. Mrs Salmons, who was born in Romford (England), came to New Zealand with her parents, Mr and Mrs S. T. Parsons, at the age of nine years in tire sailing vessel Conflict. Arriving at Wellington in August, 1874, Mrs Salmons accompanied her parents to Si 1verstream. In 1885 she was marred in the Capital City to Mr William Salmons, and then went to reside in Ohariti Valley. Forty-five years ago Mr and Mrs Salmons removed to Levin and had seen the town make much progress. Their first house was a wliare on the site of the present public gardens. Of a retiring disposition Mrs Salmons was always cheerful and kindly and throughout her long residence in Levin made many friends. She is survived by her husband, and an adult famiiy of three daughters, Mesdnmes A. R. Ransom, J. T. Oak, and AV. H. Bignal and two sons, Messrs AV. S. and L. It. Salmons, all o' Levin.
