DEFENCE OF EGYPT.
IN EVENT OF WAR. LONDON, Sept. 14. The British United Press correspondent at Cairo reports that, after a discussion with Vice-Admiral Forbes, second in command of the Mediterranean Fleet, the Premier (Nessim Pasha) announced that Vice-Admiral Forbes assured him that Britain was prepared to assume the delence of Egypt in the event of war between Italy and Abyssinia.
REPORT DENIED. LONDON, Sept. 15. An official communique denies the widely circulated report of the Egyptian Premier’s conversation with ViceAdmiral Forbes.
