TROTTING PRESIDENT.

VISIT TO PALMERSTON NORTH. Mr H. F. Nicoll, president of the New Zealand Trotting Conference, was a visitor to Palmerston North on Saturday. Arriving from the south shortly after midday, he was entertained at luncheon and later taken on a sightseeing tour by Mr W. Alouldoy, president of the Manawatu Trotting Club, in company with Mr A. Manson (secretary) and members of the club. The Awapuni racecourse was included in the itinerary, Air Nicoll being greatly impressed with the appointments and the course, it being his first visit to the local headquarters of racing. Bledisloo Park, the Esplanade, and the Kairanga were visited in turn, and Air Nicoll, who is hoping to make a personal acquaintance with the executive members of all the clubs in the North Island, left by the Auckland express at 6 p.in.
