BUTTER STEADY AT 112 s. SOUND POSITION OF STOCKS. A sharp rise to 112 s for Now Zealand butter at the beginning of last week quietened the London market, which, however, continued steady and unchanged on that quotation, but closed to a less active demand. The New Zealand retail price has now been increased to Is Id and Danish to Is 3d a lb. Deliveries of Now Zealand butter last week totalled 1996 tons, against 2379 tons for tho previous week and 1324 tons a year ago. Australian deliveries were. 1070 tons against 1470 tons a year ago. New Zealand butter in store has decreased slightly to 4322 tons, including 1658 tons ex the Rangitiki, compared with 4368 tons for the previous week and 10,948 tons a year ago. Australian butter in store totals only 2463 tons compared with 3288 tons for the previous week and 6214 tons a year ago. 'Hie cheese market continued firm last week, prices advancing 2s to 3s to reach 545. Deliveries of New Zealand cheese last week totalled 21,387 crates, compared with 21,629 crates a year ago. The quantity in store has again dropped sharply to 81,726 crates against 137,691 crates a year ago. Since the end of July New Zealand choose in store has dropped by 83.438 crates. Canadian deliveries last week totalled 6518 boxes, compared with 6808 boxes a year ago, while tho quantity in store now totals 61,464 boxes, compared with 87,044 boxes a year ago.
