The weekly shoot of the Linton District Miniature Rifle Club was held on Wednesday evening when the following scores were recordedM. Wilson, 99 —39 —138; D. Meßrearty, 98—40—138; M. MeBrearty, 94—37 —131; R. Batchelar 94 — 36—130; R. Schakelton, 92—36—128; A. Wills, 93—35—128; O. Terry, 90—37—127; R. Torrv, 91—29 —120; C. Pearson, 90 —30 —120; .1. Terry. 32—31—113. On Monday evening the School Committee met when Mr 'l. Lynch presided. Messrs E. Crawford, R. Beckett, C. Terry, J. Lauridscn, and the headmaster (Mr Whvto) were also present. Mr Whyte reported that the average attendance last term was 31.7. The wireless which has been installed recently was giving every satisfaction. It was decided to have Arbor Day at the school on Wednesday, September 18, when it is hoped that all parents and friends wiL lasscmblc at the school grounds. A considerable amount of work has been carried out during the past few weeks. The planting of shrubs and roses, etc., will all add to the beautifying of tho grounds for the coming season.
