RECLAMATION OF ZUYDER ZEE. Per Press* Association. AUCKLAND, Sept. 14. Among the sights which impressed the New Zealand fanners touring Britain and the Continent, according to Mr H. D. M. Haszard, a former Commissioner of Crown Lands in Canterbury and deputy-leader of the party, was the tremendous reclamation of the Zuyder Zee in Holland. Despite the present low prices lor produce this undertaking has been made to pay by the intense cultivation of this fertile reclaimed land by a highly industrious people. In Denmark the land was less fertile, but it had been greatly improved by cultivation and top-dress-ing. Agriculture in England, despite the Government’s assistance, was still backward. There was a good market for New Zealand pork in England, Mr Haszard added.
