Mr R. Boulter, C.M.G., British Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, i.s returning to the Dominion in the Rangitane, arriving on December 18. The Canterbury University College nominees for the Rhodes Scholarships are Messrs Alan Eudley Benliam and Minden Vaughan Blake. —Press Association. Bishop Liston, who is making a tour of Ireland, is due to leave England on Octoher 6 lie will return via the United States of America, and is expected to arrive at Auckland on the Niagara on November 26. The death occurred at the residence of his daughter, Mrs J. Frew, Oliau, yesterday, of Mr Sidney Hirst, at the age of 86 years. Mr Hirst, who was born in Wellington in 1849, was the eldest son of the late Mr and Mrs Hirst. He married, in Wellington, Miss Isabella Stent, by whom he is survived, and also four daughters and four sons.
