PERSONAL.
In the House of Representatives yesterday Messrs H. Holland and E. F. Healy were granted four days’ leave of absence on account of illness.
Rev. P. A. Stanley, who has been in charge of All Saints’ Church, Wanganui East, for the past 18 months, has accepted the cure of the parochial district of Waverley. On the motion of the chairman (Cr W. E. Barber), the Manawatu County Council yesterday expressed its sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr T. Rowe, of llongotea, an esteemed settler of the county. A welcome to the meeting was extended to Cr R. A. Wilson, of Bulls, who took his seat on the Manawatu County Council yesterday in place of the late Cr J. F. McKelvie. In extending a welcome to the new member of the council the chairman (Cr W. E. Barber) said he had had the pleasure and privilege of sitting for many years at the council table under the chairmanship of the late Sir James Wilson, Cr Wilson’s father.
