The appointee will be stationed at Wellington, but will also be required to relieve in other districts. It is desired that applicants should be between 30 and 40 years of age. They should also hold a Ist Class Marine Engineer’s Certificate (Steam) and should have held a position not lower than that of 2nd Engineer of a steamship or motor ship. The possession of a Motor Certificate in addition to the Steam Certificate will be a recommendation. Details of sea-service, including names of vessels and I.H.P. or B.H.P. of engines, also particulars as to education, apprenticeship, certificates and experience should be submitted.
