ROUND TABLE CLUB.

DINNER AT ROSCO’S. With, Miss Moncrieff, of the Y.W.C.'A. staff, Pekin, as the guest of honour, the Round Table Club, a branch of the Palmerston North Y.W.C.A. activities, held a dinner in the Rosco tearooms, on Monday, when Miss M. Grant, in the unavoidable absence of Mrs W. H. Galbraith, presided over an attendance of about seventy. including the Mayoress (Mrs A. E. "Mansford), and Mrs G. G. Priest (president of the local branch of the Y.W.C.A.). The tables were arranged according to Round Table tradition. Greetings were brought from the Nurses’ Association (Miss Henderson), Teachers’ Association (Miss Chapman! and Business Girls’ Club (Miss Christiansen), while Miss P. Hindle spoke for the Y.W.C.A.

Miss L. McDonald, accompanied by Mrs Grimsliaw, contributed a song, and Miss M. Porteous presented a pretty posy to Miss Moncrieff, who delivered an address upon the life of girls in China, making particular reference to the students’ movement.

Two songs were sung in Chinese and a happy assembly terminated with “Auld Lang Syne.” Miss Moncrieff, who for a week has been the guest of Mrs C. A. Small. Rongopai Street, left for New Plymouth to-day.
