RACING AT WANGANUI.

A SPLENDID CARD. The spring mooting of the Wanganui Jockey Club will open to-morrow, when a seven-race programme will be presented —the totalisator not being operated for the Two-Year-Old Parade, although the public will be able to support their fancies among the youngsters on Saturday when the Debutante Stakes will bo run. The fields for to-morrow arc of excellent strength, and an excellent day’s sport is promised patrons. The club will operato the one-pool system of betting. The card to be presented is as under :

There are a number of unknowm quality in the maiden event, but Supreme Court, Flit Acre, Frugal, Entail, Mcsurina, Prevail, Going Gay, Happy Landing, Bumble, Garter Red, Hunting Scene, and Begorrab have had somo racing experience. There may be good support foi : Bumble, Prevail, Flit Acre. OKAIIU HACK HURDLES HANDICAP, of £llO. One mile and four furlongs and a. quarter.

Esteem represents superior form in the hurdle event, but the topweight would have to improve on his last display in public. However, ho must be seriously considered. Ruaform and Kaola appear to hold bright prospects. The most favoured may be: Esteem and Ruaform. PUTIKI HACK HANDICAP, of £IOO.

A “baker's dozen” are carded in the hack distance event, Silver Brier, Tahurangi, and Sporting Song being recent winners. Rust has reverted to the weaker class, but it has brought with it a substantial advance in the poundages, and she may find the task beyond her.
