RISE IN BUTTER PRICES.

NOW 112 S A CWT

Advice was received by cablegram in Palmerston North yesterday from London that butter had reached 112 s a cwt. The wholesale price in the city is now Is 3id per pound, which is the highest level touched for five years—since August, 1930. Many offers have been received but are not being considered sufficiently attractive, the local factories preferring to consign their shipments to the Old Country. Those shipments are being expedited on account of the favomable market, some local factories indeed not having a single box on their storeroom shelves even ot this season’s make.
