MOTOR CYCLIST HURT

COLLISION WITH CAR

A compound fracture of the lower portion of the right leg, injuries to the right hand and shock were suffered by Mr S. Burmeister, farm hand, of Kairanga, when the motor-cycle he was riding and a car collided at the Mnngaone bridge on Rangitikei Line shortly after seven o’clock last evening. ‘ The car, which was proceeding from Palmerston North, was driven by Afr J. Boucher, of Palmerston North. The car skidded on the road when the brakes were applied and left the highway, tlie motor-cycle also leaving the road. The Free Ambulance was summoned and took the injured man to the Hospital. It was reported to-day that liis condition was very fair, SERIOUS EYE INJURY. An unfortunate accident occurred on Saturday, when Mr Robert Clark, aged 22, who is employed by Auto Parts, Ltd., suffered an injury involving the loss of his right eye. Mr Clark, who lives at the corner of Ferguson Street and Oxford Street, was removing a clutch spring when it flew up, catching him in the eye. He was taken to a doctor and from there to tho Hospital, where the operation was found necessary.
