On Saturday next, Manawatu will Jilay its return game with Horowltcnua. At their first meeting at Levin, iVlanawatu narrowly prevailed and with its side depleted Liy the absence of players from the St. Patrick’s and Feilding Old Boys Clubs, the home union may find it difficult to maintain its recent fine record. 'I he principal detections arc from the back line. Thompson, Culpan, Bradley and Fletcher, however, are worthy substitutes. Culpan is no newcomer to rcprcscixative . Rotball, having lately represented other unions, while Bradley, who has played ior Manawatu over a lengthy period, is rapidly recovering his best form, as is evidenced by the fact that he registered four crossings last Saturday. Should the weather be favourable this fixture should be decidedly interesting and well worthy of a good attendance of enthusiasts. At Feilding, tho long awaited clash between Feilding Old Boys and St. Patrick’s will eventuate. The authorities in Feilding arc searching the town for extra seating as a record crowd for Johnston Park is anticipated. The wearers of the green jerseys are keen to capture the laurels for the season, and their excellent showing against Marist, together with the sensational defeat l of the “Magpies” at Woodville, has sent tho hopes ot their supporters scaring. Notwithstanding this, the black and whites are quietly confident and the Fctlding enthusiasts cannot sec them being beaten. This fixture should provide the brightest club fixture seen in Manawatu this season.
