The enormous increase in the number of vehicles using the roads since the last census was taken has already been revealed and, as was indicated, it is made clear that many of tlie firstclass roads are. inadequate to meet the demands made upon them, particularly in summer. INCREASE IN MISHAPS. PSYCHOLOGICAL EXPLANATION. LONDON, Sept. 4. Professor C. G. Myers, principal of the National Institute of Industrial Psychology, in an address at the British Association Congress, attributed the increase in road accidents to a psychological condition of “accident proneness.” He advocated special tests to determine the nervous reactions of all road-users.
