RANGITIKEI.
MARTON,- Aug. 30. The management committee of tlio Rangitilcei Rugby Union met last evening, Air S. McKenzie presiding. Arrangements for the Rugby match between. Wanganui and. Hawke’s Bay, to Ik> played at Afarton, were brought to finality. The Wanganui Union had sought a guarantee of £BO, and Mr J. C. Tliomn.s waited on tho meeting with a report that he had secured the necessary guarantees from the business people of the town. Air Thomas was accorded a vote of thanks for his interest in the matter, and the guarantors were likewise thanked. The union voted £5 towards tho guarantee and individual members also added their names to the list. Arrangements were completed for the charity match. W. Noble (Alangaweka), who was ordered off the field at Bulls, was considered to have been sufficiently punished by being stood down for last Saturday’s final.
Miss T. AYood lias returned to her home, Pukepapa Road, Afarton, from Tinui, Masterton. Aliss Oliver, of the Marton dental clinic, left yesterday for her home at llakaia, Canterbury, to spend ten days’ holiday.
