Sanquhar, Viscounties of Nish, Torthorj wald and ltoss, and Baronies of -Kin- ' moot, Tyndale, Middlebie and Dqrnock. The head of the family is Lord-Lieuten-

ant of Dumriesshire and Lord Warden of the Marches. | The present Duke of Buccleuch, the seventh, owns large estate in Scotland and England. He is captain-general of the King’s bodyguard on Royal visits to Scotland and Keeper of the Signet of Scotland.
