The 50,000 club is applying right away for incorporation under tlie Incorporated Societies Act and pending the appointment of an oieanUci-secreuuy members are being enrolled by i\lr I’. *S. LarcoinL). Quito a large number of citizens are desirous of becoming life members, the following having been already enrolled at £1 Is: —Messrs Oscar Monrad. P. S. Larcomb. V. Monrad. Alex. Clark, C. N. Rabone, J. Ireland, Jl. E. Townshcud, W. H. Brown, G. lrcmaine, G. G. Priest, and A. P. Stuart, and a further half-dozen have signified their intention of taking up life lucmbdrship. The club has already received letters of congratulation and good wishes from the Manawatu Hockey Association, the P.N. Drapers’, Clothiers’ and Boot Retailors Association, and the Square Progressive Association, and throughout the city considerable satisfaction has been expressed on the inauguration of the club. 1 here can he no doubt that its aims and objects make a very witle appeal, and as it is the intention to make it a. real live institution it should he of great benefit to the city and district.
