POWER POLES BURNT.

Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Aug. 29. When tussock fires burned transmission pole.s on the high country near Waipori last night, there was a power failure in some districts and in the city for 55 minutes, though the main streets and the hospital had the power restored in five minutes. For the first time Waitaki power was brought in till the burned power poles were restored this morning.
