CHARGE OF ASSAULT.
PROMINENT FOOTBALLER FINED. GREYTOAVN, Aug. 29. Frank Fitzgerald, a Carterton footballer, was charged in the Magistrate’s Court at Alartinborough, before Air H. P. Lawry, S.AI., with assaulting William Holland at the conclusion of tlie Alartinborough - Carterton football match. Air Griffiths, who appeared for defendant, asked that lie he treated leniently, as lie had already been dealt with by the Rugby Union, His "Worship imposed a fine of 30s and costs.
