"When the Legislative Council mot at 3.15, tiie Council was informed by Governor-General’s message that, owing to the effluxion of time, the seats of Messrs R. Moore (Christchurch) and J. MacGregor (Dunedin) had become vacant. A month’s leave of absence was granted Hon. M. Fagan, who is in England, and 14 days’ to Hon. \V. Stevenson on account of illness. Hon. J. McLeod gave notice of his intention of moving the Address-in-Reply on Thursday next. Hon. 11. MeCallum gave notice of his intention of introducing, the Administration Amendment Act, the object of which is to bring up-to-date the provisions as to the disposal of estates in so far as they affect bachelors dying and leaving only their mothers, brothers and sisters as beneficiaries. The Council adjourned at 3.21 till 2.30 to-morrow.
