DAIRYING YEAR

FACTORIES’ ASSOCIATION. "The last year has again been an anxious year for the dairy farmer, although prospects at the present time liike brighter than for some time past,” states Mr S. A. Broadbelt, the chairman of the Manawatu and West G’oast Dairy Companies’ Association, in his annual report. “Many matters of very great concern to the industry as a whole liave been dealt with by this association, often in conjunction with our sister associations, and any recommendations or suggestions sent to the authorities from this association have at all times received their serious consideration, ’ the report continues.

"Again we were represented in evidence before the Dairy Commission. The matter of control of the bacon and bobby calf industry was brought before the authorities, likewise the danger of spreading in this district of (certain noxious weeds. A special cheese committee has been set up to go fully into the various questions in regard to the local marketing of cheese. The butter and cheese sections of the association on the executive have worked together harmoniously, and. I believe, fully to the advantage of members of the association and the industry generally, and I desire to thank the members of the executive personally for their valuable co-operation in our work.”
