DAIRYING SEASON
GOOD PROSPECTS. FIRM LONDON MARKET. With a firm overseas market reported, and production opening up well after the temporary setback recently suffered .through the spell of wet weather, the dairying season now getting under way is holding out better prospects for farmers than for some years past. Indications that conditions have stabilised, and the slow but definite rise in London market quotations, havo been factors contributing towards a distinctly cheerful outlook. 'The butter market has touched 95s to 965, and that for cheese 50s per cwt. Offers of 10|d per lb f.o.b. lor blitter have been received by Manawatu factories for new season’s make for immediate shipment, but it is understood that no sales have eventuated. Offers of SRI f.o.b. have been made for cheese in store. It is also understood that all stocks of Manawatu export butters made in the past season have been cleared from store in New Zealand and have either readied the market or are on the water.
Two of the largo factories are at present turning out over 100 .boxes a day, and production is increasing rapidly. Dairy stock are in good condition, and pastures are recovering from the check received during the wet weather.
