FIRST DAY’S RESULTS. Per Press Association. CHATEAU TONG Alt IRO, Aug. 27. A bleak wind and mist and sleet were experienced for the first day of the ltuapelm Ski Club’s annual winter sports meeting at National, Park, to-day. Scratch downhill races were held over a course on Scoria Flat, as practice for to-morrow’s championships. Results are as follow: Women’s novice.—Miss M. Holt (Hastings), 1; Miss D. C. Bank (Hastings), 2; Miss Z. 0. Lloyd (Te Awamutu), 3. Women’s open. —Miss E. N. Bond (Wanganui), 1; Miss E. E. Wallace (Ohakukura), 2; Miss 1. A. Farrelly (Auckland), 3. . Men’s novice.—D. Lewis (Auckland), 1: C. B. Lewis (Raurimu), 2; L. E. Thomas (Wellington), 3. Men’s open.—W. M. Platts (Auckland), 1; D. McPherson (Palmerston North), 2; It. Kean (Wellington), 3.
