THE SUSSEX MATCH,
AFRICANS COMPILE 218
Received August 27, 9.25 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 26. The South Africans commenced their match with Sussex to-day. 'i hey compiled 218 in the first innings, Dalton and Langton each contributing 51. At stumps Sussex had lost 4 lor 58. On the soft wicket after the rain, the South Africans might have been dismissed cheaply hud Sussex seized all their chances.
The bowlers were always on top until Langton and Dalton, in a seventhwicket stand, added 69 runs. Scores are:— • SOUTH AFRICA. First Innings.
