BULLS.

(From Our Own C'orresnondent.) BULLS. Aug. 26,

On Friday evening a party of Martonians numbering over 45 journeyed to Flock House whore an enjoyable evening was spent. The organisers were Airs F. Brice. Miss Simpson, and members of the junior division of the W.D.F.tJ. Colonel Towles (principal of Flock House) welcomed the visitors. The ballroom was decorated in Japanese style, and in alcoves were great bowls of prunus, while the music came from a loud speaker like a great moon at the hack of tlie stage. Japanese lanterns and a profusion of greenery made the scene a charming one. Between the dances the following items were given : —Sailor’s hornpipe, Miss Isla Parkinson; comic song, Miss Leonoro Wilkie; song, Miss Adelaide Nitschke; song, Mr Shelton. Community singing also served to brighten the eiening. After supper had been served. Colonel Bowles thanked the organisers and other visitors for their kindness and thoughtfulness in arranging the party, and expressed the hope that it would not be long before another visit was made to Flock House. Bulls Town Hall was crowded on Jhursday evening when the Parewanui School dance was held. Parewanui residents were prosent in full force, and buses brought many patrons from Marton and Palmerston North. A professional band of five players provided splendid music. The hon. sccr p" tary (Mr Walter Hart) and the M.C. (Mr Les Sanson) carried out their duties admirably, while the supper arrangements (in charge of the ladies) were complete. A Monte Carlo was won by Miss E. Wasson and Mr A. Young, and in the card room most games of euchre were won by Miss M. Teko and Mr E. Sayers. A number of novelties added to the fun of the dance, which was voted most enjoyable and successful.
