COMMUNITY SING.
Mr Mansford and Mr Hodgens, contestants for Parliamentary honours, have accepted Mr Selwyn’s challenge! He has promised to conduct the sing in kilts if they will sing a duet at the community sing at the State Theatre on Thursday next from 12.15 to 1.30 p.m. This they have agreed to do, and Palmerston North is now eagerly awaiting the appearance of these two attractions, Mr Mansford and Mr Hodgens in harmony, and Mr Seiwyn in his kilts. Further attractions will lie provided by the appearance of Allan Sundborn’s String Quartette; Heed’s Band in well-known numbers; and the overpopular Godson’s Aces on the stage. Three lucky seats have again been given, and some more fun is expected in a scramble for them if they are not already occupied. These community sings, organised by the committee of the Y.M.C.A. Queen Miss L Allsop, have taken the public fancy, and regret is felt that this should be the final one A crowded house is anticipated, so it is advisable to come early for a scat.
