ITALO-AUSTRALIAN AMITY.
No one looks on the Italo-Abyssinian dispute with more anxiety than Italians in Australia, according to a leading article in Jtalo-Australian Weekly Journal, published in Melbourne. It says: “We believe in Italy’s cause. We believe that she is fighting the battle of Christendom. We believe that Italy is right and that Abyssinia is wrong, yet we are anxious that not even the breath of irritation should occur as a result of Italy’s quarrel with Abyssinia to impair the good feeling l>etween Italy and her greatest traditional friend, Great Britain. “It is too much to expect that two such strong forthright nations at Italy and Britain could discuss the Abyssinian question, in which both are vitally interested, without their interests clashing. We want only perfect friendship between Italy and Britain.”
