RANGITIKEI.
MARION, Aug. 23. Air Duckworth, of Otorohanga, who arrived this morning in Alarton is the guest of Mrs Edward Smith, “Redgrave.” Mrs Charles Parmiter, of Waipukurau, is the guest of her parents, Air and Airs John Marshall, Tutu Totara, Marton. The death occurred at Upper Tutatenui, Alarton, this week, of Air Joseph Oswald Jefferson. Ho was 59 years of age. Air Jefferson was a son of the late Air and Airs John Jefferson, of Upper Tutaenui, who were early pioneer farmers in the Rangitikei district. Air Isaac Jefferson, of Taumarunui. is a brother, and Airs H. Gower, of Alarton, and Aliss Jefferson, of Palmerston North, are sisters. The mother of Air Oswald Jefferson was a sister of Air Zacariah Afeads, of Rata, who is now in his 94th vear. Air Jefferson married Ali ss Coleman, and to her and her sons —Jack, Ben and Robert and daughter Edith—the sympathy c.f a wide circle of friends is extended.
