AUSTRALIAN OPEN TOURNEY. ADELAIDE, Aug. 22. Play in the open golf championship of Australia began to-day at the Seaton course. The Victorian professional, G. Naismith, at the end of the day led the field with a 71, which is two better than par. The South Australian professionals, A. Toogood, R. Stewart, and W. Harvey, and the New South Wales professional, C. Gray, each had a-72. r fhe New South Wales amateur, J. Ferrier, took 73, and the titleholder, W. Bolger, 77.
