WYATT REPLIES
CRITICISM OF CAPTAINCY. CRUCIAL DECISIONS HIS OAVN. RELATIONS EXCELLENT. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received August 23, 10.25 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 22. After a silence during sustained criticism of his captaincy of the English Test side, R. E. S. AYyatt, in an article in the Evening Standard, says: My relations with the selectors are excellent. They, and every member of the side, have supported me. My crucial decisions, while taken on my own responsibility, were not reached without consulting various members of the team. The selectors have never tried to persuade me to adopt a policy against my judgment. For some ot my critics I have whole-liearted contempt. AA’ithout help from the pitch, weather, and luck nowadays it is next door to impossible to force a win in three days.
