Mr Feng Wang has been appointed to act as Consul for China Wellington, according to a Gazette notice issued last night. Mr J. A. Nash, M.P., has been reelected chairman of directors of the New Zealand Dairy Union for the sixteenth year in succession. Mr R. J. Larkin, of Victoria College, has been elected president of the New Zealand University Students’ Association. —Press Association. Rev. J. J. North, D.D., Principal of the New Zealand Baptist College, is visiting Palmerston North and will preach at the Baptist Church on Sunday evening. The death has oceured. in the Whangarei Hospital of Mr William Proctor at the age of 68 years. He was born at Burton Lonsdale, Yorkshire, and came to New Zealand 42 years ago, first living in the South Island, where he worked at the building trade. He later moved to Pahiatua, where he remained for 15 years. He was keenly interested in volunteer work, and took his first commission at Pahiatua. In 1908 he moved to Wliangarei, where he established his business.
