THE ELECTION.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Significant enough, Mr V. A. Christensen’s and “Teamwork’s” reply aro in the same issue again. Might I suggest that they be a little more diplomatic in future, and after the propaganda committee has met so arrange the publication of letters on different nights and then possibly the purpose of conveying imaginary, public opinion might work. I note that thev both are very careful when it comes to the “Red” stuff. Apply the “Red” and you apply the ‘ 5*®,., lock.” There is no getting out of this holt. Mr Christensen still remembers the discipline meted out to him by the Labour Party in 1922, and having developed the “dropped” complex labels his opponents likewise. His letter would have been more interesting if he had included some of those “nursery' rhymes” he generally uses in his literary efforts. Referring to Mr A. E. Mansford, he will remember the words of the late Mr H. E. Holland in the Opera House. When in speaking of Mr Mansford he said, “This man is being watched b- New Zealand. “On the West Coast,” added the speaker, “there are keen students of economics among the miners and they have noted Mr Mansford’s efforts with approval.” In closing, Mr Holland said. “There is a great future ahead of this man.” That intellectual giant knew, and the majority of electoi'6 in this city know, too. Mr V. A. Christensen and “Teamwork” know and they have become panic stricken at the thought of another defeat for Mr Hod. gens. Most people like to back a winner and in closing I can assure my nervous and anxious correspondents that Mr Mansford is “hot favourite” all the wav.—l am, etc., ELECTOR. August 22, 1935.
