WANGANUI JOCKEY CLUB

SPRING MEETING

The Wanganui Jockey Club has drawn up an attractive programme for its spring meeting to be held on September 12 and 14. On the opening day (Thursday) the principal flat events arc the Marangi Handicap, one mile and a quarter, of £145, and the Flying Handicap, seven furlongs, ot £l2O, while the hacks will also bo well, catered for by the Putiki Hack Handicap, one mile and 110 yards, of £IOO, and tho Doric Hack Handicap six furlongs, of £IOO. The jumping brigade will have the Ukeliu Hack Hurdles, one mile four and a quarter furlongs, of £llO. Prior to the opening event a two-year-old parade will be held, and the majority of the youngsters will no doubt go on to the Debutante Stakes on tho Saturday. The Wanganui Guineas is also set down for decision tho second day. Owners and trainers are reminded that nominations for all events close on Friday night at 8 o'clock.
