MATRON DISMISSED.

WAIHI HOSPITAL INQUIRY. NURSE REINSTATED. Per Press Association. WAIHI, Aug. 21. Following upon several changes in the nursing and domestic staff, the Waihi Hospital Board held an inquiry into a complaint made by a nursing aid who, after being suspended, was reinstated and finally dismissed. The nurse, in her statement, alleged that she bad been badly treated by the matron and that there was no justification for her dismissal. After a sitting extending over four hours, during which statements were made by the medical superintendent and the matron, who said the services of the nurse had not been satisfactory, the board decided to order the reinstatement of complainant and dispense with the services of the matron forthwith. It was further decided that the matron lie given three months’ salary in lieu of notice, both resolutions being carried by C votes to 3.
