ASHHURST.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) ASIIHURST, Aug. 2. The Hall Committee held a lumber euchre and dance on Wednesday evening in conjunction with a ping pong tournament. The card lables were again well tilled, Ylesdames Oaisford and R. Cook being for first place, and the prize eventually going to Mrs Oaisford, while Mrs L. Stern, of Shannon, was awarded the ladies consolation Tho men’s section was won by All L Hacked, with Mr W. Hoskins annexing tho consolation. The ping pong tournament provided keen interest, and was placed on the handicap system. Ihe results were: Miss S. Read 4 wins, Miss K Brewer 3 wins, Misses M. Woodroofe and K, Thorite 1 win each. Men s section. Messrs X. Osborne 5 wins, Is.. W'KS'"** POsborne C. Brower 4 wins, J. Boriott, M. Road, R. Potts 3 wins, W. Brewer, Ai. Baton 2 wins, M. Hayward, J. cox, J. Searlc 1 win each. At the conclusion of the games supper was served and tne remainder of the evening was spent in daneing f when about 40 couples took the nooi, the music being supplied by Mrs Ilewitt, with an extra by Mr Bristow on the accord ecu. Miss S. Head and Mr C». Maunder were the winners of the lucky (jay Gordons. Messrs Baton and Maul had [charge of the cards, Mr Potts the ping- ! pong, and Mr 11. Woodroofe was M.C.
