Gupta in Sydney concerning tho “disgusting conditions’’ of tho Indian hockey team’s tour of New Zealand has been received by tlio New Zealand Hockey Association. The president (Mr AV. H. Down) cabled to Air Behrain Doctor (tho manager of tho team) requesting an official explanation of Mr Gupta’s statement, and tlio. following cabled reply was received this morning:—“Mr Gupta himself is surprised at tlio newspaper report. Ho emphatically denies using such words. He is issuing a contradiction through the newspapers, and 1 am mailing you a copy.”
