COMMENT BY CORONER.

UNIDENTIFIED BODY. Per Press Association. HAMILTON, Aug. 2. ‘‘lt is a curious thing that, in a small place like New Zealand, it should happen that a l>ody is found aiid, after a lapse of six mouths, there are no means of identifying him,” stated Mr S. L. Patterson (Coroner) at the adjourned inquest to-day on the body of a man aged about 60, which was recovered from the Waikato River at Hamilton on January 21. The Coroner added that cases of men disappearing and not being found wore common, but the reverse position, of bodies being found and remaining unidentified, was rare. He returned a verdict of death by drowning, and that no evidence was available to show how or when deceased came to l>o ill the river. If further evidence was forthcoming the inquest could lie reopened by the direction of the Gov-ernor-General.
