WEATHER IN JULY.

RAINFALL OF 2.01 INCHES. The following are the records of the weather in July as kept by Mr E. J. Worry, of the Palmerston North Boys High School: — RAINFALL.

Total 2;01 Rain fell on 17 days. In July last year there was a total of 3.52 inches, sain fell on 19 days. BAROMETRIC HEIGHT.

Alcan height for month : 29.87 inches Maximum, 30.26 inches on the 10th Minimum, 29.42 inches on the 25th

TEMPERATURES. Alcan temperature of air in the siiade, 46. G deg. (45.5). Mean maximum temperature of air in the shade, 53 deg. (53.3). Mean minimum temperature of air in the shade, 40.1 deg. (37.7). Meaii minimum on grass, 35.6 deg. (34.8). Highest maximum on any day, 59 deg. on 19th. Lowest minimum on any day, 26 deg. on the lltli.

Lowest grass minimum, 25 deg. on the lltii and 28th. (Last year’s figures in parentheses.) Number of trusts, 7. Heaviest frost, 7 deg. on the lltli and 28th. Prevailing winds (observed at 9 a.i11.) :—E. on 13 days; S.E. on 6 days; W. on 5 days; N.W. on 4 ddys.
